Lacandon Forest

This is the most diverse forest in Mexico, and Bioconciencia personnel have promoted studies and its conservation for over 20 years. Currently we are performing studies on water management, biological indicators of disturbance, along with large mammal monitoring assessments with camera-traps.

Megafauna

We have promoted and worked continuously on the conservation and reintroduction of the prog-horned sheep (Antilocapra americana) in Northern Mexico, which wild populations are still very reduced. We have worked with the first sustainable development project for the conservation of the Big-horn sheep in the Gulf of California, working with the Seri indigenous community. Other efforts with large mammals in the country include the Lynx (Lynx rufus) abundance, distribution and phylogeography.

Federal Government advisors

We are working with the federal government wildlife division, asessing the process of de-centralizing the actions generated for the protection of the environment and endangered species. With this we have created the National Council of Wildlife. Also, we are performing some periodic revision of the species with some category of risk by the Mexican law.
